Odo: Star Trek’s Most Tragic Character

Just finished watching "A Simple Investigation", the episode where Odo falls in love with a woman who worked as an unaware secret agent, and loses her when she regains memory of who she is (a married woman). It just had me thinking: when you factor in this episode with all the others where Odo struggles with his love for Major Kira, not knowing where he comes from, being exiled and reviled by his own people, and ultimately sacrificing his relationship with the Major to save the Federation…he has got to be Star Treks most tragic character. I'd say O'Brien comes in second, considering all of his baggage.

Do you agree? If not, who do you believe deserves that title?
